The SL-1200 Mark 3 was introduced in 1989.
It was an update to the popular SL-1200MK2 series.
It was intended for the Japan / Asia market only.
However, some units were imported to the US
and was priced at US $200 more than a MK2 version.
::Features and Innovations::
The MK3 is not the same as the M3D, which is a US / Canada North American designation.
Basically the same as the SL-1200MK2, the SL-1200MK3 differed only slightly.
It featured Gold Plated RCA wire sets with improved molded connectors.
I have actually only seen three in my life, or I might doubt that they existed at all.
It came in black which was really cool, since the SL-1210 (E) was never released in the US.
::Control Section::
- A START / STOP button provided quick starts as well as quick stops
- The power selectorwas changed to a knob which rotates clockwise to engage system power
- A single Fader Slide Variable Resistor controls Pitch Variation of +/- 8% of selected platter speed
.
