• "Do you do Factory Warranty Repairs?"
We do
not do warranty repairs!
For factory warranty repairs you'll need
to go to an authorized service center:
Frankly, we have more real world experience than most "Factory
Authorized Service Centers"
because we work on these models, and only these models every day.
Your average service center
is used to seeing everything from car stereos to cordless phones
and although most can get the
necessary parts, they simply do not have the experience to
install them. Be wary of these shops
as they are the ones who will try to make you feel like the idiot
for calling them, when, in fact
it is they who do not know what the problem is or how to solve
it.
We will not make you feel stupid for contcting us. That is our
promise to you!

- "How long will the work
take?" Or, in other words, "How long will be without my
equipment?
Well , that usually depends on what your having done and the number of
repairs that are in line in front of your equipment. Its a first come
first served policy here at RTL, however we do offer an expedited
service schedule to fit your needs. Please Contact Us for details.
- I can't give up my Gear
for one day, much less a week....what can I do?
If you are local to the D/FW metroplex, we can refer you to
several rental companies from which you can rent any sort of audio
equipment at very reasonable rates.
- Are you qualified to work
on my equipment?
We have
10 years experience working on only Pro and Consumer Audio components.
- Why should I consider
disabling the Quartz Lock Feature on a Technics SL 1200 / 1210?
Well, the
quartz lock feature is great if you are going to need to replay
a recording at exactly 33 1/3 or 45 RPM with the least possible Wow and
Flutter;
if this is the case go out and buy yourself a good quality ($1000) belt
drive
turntable
because the rumble alone which is caused by a Direct Drive Turntable
Motor
(like on the Technics 1200 / 1210) may be too great for any demanding
audiophile.
Now on to our point..if you are a DJ, and wish to have the greatest
amount
of control over the platter as possible. When the quartz lock is
enabled
and the green LED is illuminated, you no longer have control of the
platter
speed. this is due to the fact that the pitch control variable resistor
assembly
has been circumvented and the platter speed is now controlled by the
constant
oscilations of a quartz crystal. Quartz crystals have defined
oscilations
(vibrations) which are defined by physical laws of the Universe , and
their
inherant frequencies are used in a wide range of applications in which
standards
must be maintained, such as computer processor clocks, wristwatches,
and
direct drive turntable motors. Thus removing, or disabling this Quartz
Locking
function of the Pitch Control gives you 100% control 100% of the time.
- Do you use Factory
Quality Parts in your repairs?
Yes, we
purchase Factory OE (Original Equipment) directly from manufacturers in
Asia , Europe, and America. We do have some great
quality
used parts in stock...these will only be used upon your approval as in
many
cases this will afford you approximately 50% savings.
- Where on Earth are you
located?
Our Lab is
located deep within a protected and heavily fortified bunker six
stories beneath the Dallas/Ft Worth Metroplax...no, just kidding..we
are located in Denton, Texas and operate this business in a dedicated
workshop. Because we do
not have a retail location; we are able to save you roughly 1/2 the
cost of repairs and service. We can also do work "On Site"
for an additional service fee...Either
way this saves You $.
- Why are your prices so
inexpensive?
Because we are
able to keep our costs down (see above) Our basic
Labor rate is just $40 per hour for mechanical work such as tonearm
replacement, and just $60 per hour for electronic circuit work such as
drive
motor & voltage troubleshooting, which is cheap compared to other
Electronics Technicians who charge up to $85 - $100 per hour.
With our
lower
service rates, we typically save you about half what other shops would
charge, with no sacrifice in quality.
- I really want to get my
Audio Equipment worked on, but I'm not sure if I can trust you. Do you
have any
references that I can talk to ?
Sure, go to Google and simply do a search for
"Turntabletech" "Turntabletech.com" or "Revolution Turntable Lab". This
will undoubtedly take you to some audio forums. I am sure that most
people will be glad to tell you if they had a bad experience using our
shop..I strive to make everybody happy because I know what it feels
like to be treated poorly. We also have an eBay presence becuase we
often sell parts and custom LED kits.
Feel free to search the username "turntabletech" and you will see that
we have a 100% positive feedback score.
- I live in a land far away
from your shop, but I really want to get some work done. How do I send
my Audio Equipment to you?
We recommend
using www.ups.com
(United
Parcel Service). You can go to their site
and get the cost from your place to ours. There is a "Shipping
Calculator"
feature. All you do is input the size box and the weight , select your
Zip
Code and select 76201 for the destination Zip Code.....
Here are some
suggestions for sending your Turntables by parcel:
• Click here and go to the
Shipping & Packaging Help Section
- Remove the Turntable Platter Assembly or tape
it in place.
- Removethe tonearm Counterweight and and box
seperately.
- Secure the Tonearm Assembly with a wire tie
- Protect under the Tonearm assembly with

- If you have the Original Box...USE IT!
- If you do not, then see if you can get one from
